Information about our 2025 Old Union WGA Season

 

What is new this year?  We will be using the Golf Genius Portal to sign up for play days, create your profile including your Emergency Contact Information. The portal will also display the Leaderboard for each play day and players statistics including the number of times they have played with another player.  I am working on a tutorial to send to our members to help navigate the different functions the portal has to offer. The only sign up on our OldUnionWGA.com will be for the lessons with Mary Holmes.


Pre-season play days will begin the 1st Monday and last through the last Monday in April.  If you are already a member of our league the cost to play golf at Old Union on pre-season play days is $25.00.


Our league season starts the 1st Monday in May (May 5th Opening Day) and runs through the last Monday in September. Every year our "Opening Day" starts off with finger food and Mimosa's!


Thursday Fun Day is Now Friday’s Fun Day! We have changed our Thursday Fun Day to Friday's Fun Day, due to the conflict of other local leagues in the area.  Cameron has graciously given us a $30 rate to our members who play on our Friday Fun Day and sign up through our portal.


Weekly games on Monday are $5.00 which includes a different format each week, chip-ins, birdies and something new "Skin" tournament.  We pay out in 3 - 5 flights depending on the number of participants.  This will be another layer for our players to participate in the prize money each week. 


Closest To The Pin: Old Union Golf Course sponsors each week "A Closest To The Hole" on a par 3.  The winner receives either a $25.00 gift card or a free round of golf valued up to $25.00.  Any player who participates in the weekly game is eligible for the Closest To The Pin.  Thank you to Old Union!


Beat The Pro: On the schedule will be another "Beat The Pro" once a month, again sponsored by Old Union Golf Course.


Hole In One: Currently our hole in one fund is $456.00 and expected to go up to $570.00 after all the 2025 dues are paid.  Hole In One fund is paid to any member who has paid their current membership dues, makes a hole in one on any Monday, Fun Friday play days or any sanction golf tournament by the league (example our Pigeon Forge trip).  Players must complete 18 holes and have a witness. 


Tournaments: 2 round Eclectic tournament June 23rd and June 30th; Flag Day July 7th; League Champion August 4th and August 11th. Member/Member August 18th. 


Sadie Hawkins Day: All our welcome!  Monday, August 25th.  This has been a huge success each year, and each year we get more and more participants.  Mark your calendars, you will not want to miss this.  Click here for more information.
